Welcome to my blog where I will share all things WELLNESS along with my enthusiasm for teaching and learning! One must never underestimate what they can learn from children!
I am an elementary educator and certified personal trainer that has been blessed with an opportunity to mesh my two passions of fitness and teaching children. I spent 17 years as an elementary teacher/administrator until my family moved to Indiana in 2012. At that time, I stepped out of the classroom to assist my children as they settled into their new environment. During this time, I obtained my personal training certification and began my journey of inspiring adults to live a fit, active lifestyle. After two years out of the classroom, I knew a part of me was missing working with children. It was time to step back into the school setting and I began my work for Zionsville Schools as a Title 1 Reading Interventionist. Fast forward to 2016, and my current position-Elementary Wellness Teacher! It is truly a "dream come true". I am thankful for a community that values education and understands the importance of physical activity and wellness. Therefore, I am blessed with the opportunity to not only teach children about the importance of physical activity, how to exercise, why nutrition plays a key role in our health and development, but to inspire and help foster a growth mindset towards living a healthy, self-confident, active lifestyle that will enable them to reach their fullest potential and BE STRONG IN THEIR OWN WAY!
